Technical Program

NathanPettus_photoThe ISA Hamilton Expo features a keynote speaker (9am-10am) plus several other technical presentations.

Keynote Presentation:
Improving Plant Reliability

Presented by:
Nathan Pettus
Vice President and General Manager
of Emerson’s Global Machinery Health Management

Improving plant reliability is a critical aspect of any world-class operation, and essential to remain competitive in today’s global markets. Improved reliability also translates into improved plant safety. But reliability doesn’t “just happen” – it takes planning and experience to design a best-in-class program that optimizes your return on investment. In his address, Nathan will discuss the effective use of reliability-based technologies, effective work processes, and the role of leadership in implementing a successful reliability program. Best practices from Emerson’s Reliability Program of the Year will be highlighted as real-world examples of successful implementation.

About the Keynote Speaker: Nathan Pettus, VP and General Manager of Emerson’s global Machinery Health Management business, first joined Emerson in 1998. At that time served as a software developer and development manager working with Emerson’s DeltaV distributed control system technology. Nathan held various global sales and marketing roles in support of DeltaV and related automation production brands. He also served as Vice President of Lifecycle Services, leading an organization of sales, marketing and solution development teams focused on Emerson’s current customers and assisting them on maintaining their automation systems. In 2013, Nathan relocated to Knoxville TN to provide leadership to Emerson’s Machinery Health technologies and services, delivering improved safety and availability to Emerson customers through reliability technologies and processes. Nathan holds a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University, a MSE in controls from The University of Texas at Austin, and a MBA from McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin.
