The student poster competition, now in its second year, gives the automation community a look into what student’s at the relatively new McMaster University / Mohawk College 4 year degree program in Process Automation is all about.

A total of 15 student teams showcased their 4th year Design projects at the Expo.

ISA Hamilton provided automation engineers as judges, and prizes were awarded for the top 3 posters.

The top 3 posters were:

  • 1st place: Process desalination and bottling line
  • 2nd place: Stabilizing quadcopter
  • 3rd place: 3D capacitive control of a robotic arm.

In addition to showing their posters, the students enjoyed talking with with attendees and exhibitors to learn about our sector. Students also go an opportunity to talk with potential employers at the expo.

Many thanks to the Expo committee headed by Cheryl Menzies (Lakeside) and Joe Beggs (WIKA) and the Education Committee (Prof. Kostas and Mike Bovenkamp) for their hard work to make this event come together.
