ISA Hamilton held its 2016 Annual General Meeting on May 31, 2016. The meeting was hosted by Toshiba Canada Industrial Products Ltd. at their Stoney Creek, Ontario motor manufacturing facility. The AGM featured a talk about advanced motor design fundamentals, and a tour of the plant.
The meeting was chaired by ISA Hamilton vice-president Konstantinos (Kostas) Apostolou and program chair Michael Bovenkamp. Kostas welcomed the membership to the AGM and Michael provided an overview of the year’s activities. Outgoing president Brent Killins also sent his best wishes to the AGM attendees. An election was then held for the following year’s leadership of ISA Hamilton. Following the election, four students from McMaster University, who ISA Hamilton sponsored, gave a presentation about how they travelled to the ISA Student Games at SAIT in Calgary, Alberta. The evening finished with a talk about motor design techniques, and a tour of the Toshiba motor manufacturing facility. Many thanks to Pete Pelletier and Walter Silva from Toshiba for acting as our hosts, and giving the talk/tour.
ISA Hamilton would like to congratulate our incoming officers for next year’s board: President: Konstantinos (Kostas) Apostolou, Acting vice-president: Michael Bovenkamp, Treasurer: Brent Killins, and Secretary: Graham Nasby.
