Software Solutions for Better Safety, Reliability, Efficiency and Sustainability
Description: Plant processes are increasingly complex and difficult to manage. Add in pressures arising from global economic conditions, a complicated regulatory environment and supply chain variability and you have a perfect storm where plants must do more with less and make faster, smarter decisions just to remain competitive. Successfully resolving these questions through technology that works with existing assets and systems will transform any business and generate significant value through improved safety, reliability, efficiency and sustainability.
Presenter: Ron Poirier
Ron has been with Honeywell for over 20 years where he has held numerous roles including Technical Sales, Sales Management, Business Manager, and is currently a Channel Manager for Honeywell Advanced Solutions. Ron has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Ottawa University.

More than just Sci-Fi
Description: The new laser based analysis technology is changing the landscape across all industries. From ensuring your inhaler works to controlling the burner in your furnace, laser technology is sequentially knocking out standards in technology for a more accurate, easier to apply and less maintenance prone solution. We will discuss the evolution of technology, current capabilities and future aspirations of laser with application examples in Petrochemical, Natural Gas, Packaging, Marine/CEMS and Combustion processes.

Topic: Turbogen To Profits!
Description: With the ever evolving landscape of government programs and incentives, ArcelorMittal Dofasco wanted to take advantage of a government sponsored program for energy conservation and savings. With the redeployment of a used/rebuilt 50+ year old Turbogenerator, they were able to save the company millions of dollars in annual electricity costs, while saving the environment. The project maximized the use of existing plant infrastructure, minimized capital costs and used a state-of-the art DeltaV control system, with Charms, to pull it all together.
