Talk Description:
The ISA has a wealth of knowledge to offer the process industries in the form of ISA standards. These standards written using a committee-based and cross-industry approach can equally applied to a wide range of industries including oil/gas, chemical, pulp/paper, mining, power, pharmaceutical and municipal water/wastewater, as well as batch and discrete manufacturing. Included in the ISA standards portfolio are technical reports, recommend practice documents, and the standards documents themselves. This talk will provide an overview of some of the ISA standards are frequently used in process industries. In total the ISA has over 180 standards, recommended practices and technical reports, not including those that have been adopted as ANSI and IEC standards
About the Speaker:
Graham Nasby, P.Eng., PMP is a senior I&C Engineer with Eramosa Engineering Inc., and is based out of their Guelph, Ontario office. He is a subject matter expert in alarm management and works extensively in the municipal water/wastewater sector. Nasby is a voting member of the ISA18 “Alarm Management” standards committee, co-chair of the ISA18-WG7 working group on packaged system alarming, and contributing member of the ISA101 “Human Machine Interfaces (HMI)” committee, as well as being active in the Canadian TC65A IEC committee under the auspices of the Standards Council of Canada.
